The Charge Of The Goddess

Hey Guys!
So this invocation came straight out "Witchcraft for Tomorrow" by: Doreen Valiente.

The Charge Of The Goddess

Listen to the words of the Great Mother, who was of old also called Artemis; Astarte; Diana; Melusine; Aphrodite; Cerridwen; Dana; Arianrhod; Isis; Bride; and by many other names.

Whenever ye have need of anything, once in a month, and better it be when the Moon be full, then ye shall assemble in some secret place and adore the spirit of me, who am Queen of all Witcheries.

There shall ye assemble, ye who are fain to learn all sorcery, yet have not yet won its deepest secrets: to these will I teach things that are yet unknown.

And ye shall be free from slavery; and as a sign that ye are really free, ye shall be naked in your rites; and ye shall dance, sing, feast, make music and love, all in my praise.

For mine is the ecstasy of the spirit and mine also is joy on earth; for my Law is Love unto all Beings.

Keep pure your highest ideal; strive ever toward it; let naught stop you or turn you aside.

For mine is the secret door which opens upon the Land of Youth; and mine is the Cup of the Wine of Life, and the Cauldron of Cerridwen, which is the Holy Grail of Immortality.

I am the Gracious Goddess, who gives the gift of joy unto the heart. Upon earth, I give the knowledge of the spirit eternal; and beyond death, I give peace, and freedom, and reunion with those who have gone before. Nor do I demand sacrifice, for behold I am the Mother of All Living, and my love is poured out upon the earth.

Hear ye the words of the Star Goddess, she in the dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven; whose body encircleth the Universe; I, who am the beauty of the green earth, and the white Moon among the stars, and the mystery of the waters, and the heart’s desire, call unto thy soul. Arise and come unto me.

For I am the Soul of Nature, who giveth life to the universe; from me all things proceed, and unto me must all things return; and before my face, beloved of gods and mortals, thine inmost divine self shall be unfolded in the rapture of infinite joy.

Let my worship be within the heart that rejoiceth, for behold: all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals. And therefore let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honour and humility, mirth and reverence within you.

And thou who thinkest to seek for me, know thy seeking and yearning shall avail thee not, unless thou know this mystery: that if that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee, thou wilt never find it without thee.

For behold, I have been with thee from the beginning; and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.

Invocation of the Moon Goddess

Hey Guys!
So this invocation came straight out "Witchcraft for Tomorrow" by: Doreen Valiente.
NOTE: Since this is an Invocation of the 'Moon' Goddess, you can substitute Diana's name for Hecate for an example. Hecate works for me considering she is my Goddess.

Diana, queen of night,
In all your beauty bright,
Shine on us here,
And with your silver beam
Unlock the gates of dream;
Rise bright and clear.
On earth and sky and sea,
Your magic mystery
its spell shall cast,
Wherever leaf may grow,
Wherever tide may flow,
Till all be past.
O secret queen of power,
At this enchanted hour
We ask your boon.
May fortune's favour fall
Upon true witches all,
O Lady Moon!

Invocation of the Horned God

Hey Guys!
So this invocation came straight out "Witchcraft for Tomorrow" by: Doreen Valiente.

By the flame that burneth bright,
O Horned One!
We call thy name into the night,
O Ancient One!
Thee we invoke, by the moon-led sea,
By the standing stone and the twisted tree.
Thee we invoke, where gather thine own,
By the nameless shrine forgotten and lone.
Come where the round of the dance is trod,
Horn and hoof of the goatfoot god!
By moonlit meadow, on dusky hill,
When the haunted wood is hushed and still,
Come to the charm of the chanted prayer,
As the moon bewitches the midnight air.
Evoke thy powers, that potent bide
In shining stream and the secret tide,
In fiery flame by starlight pale,
In shadowy host that rides the gale,
And by the fern-brakes fairy-haunted
Of forests wild and woods enchanted.
Come! O come!
To the heart-beat's drum!
Come to us who gather below
When the broad white moon is climbing slow
Through the stars to the heaven's height.
We hear thy hoofs on the wind of night!
As black tree-branches shake and sigh,
By joy and terror we know thee nigh,
We speak the spell thy power unlocks
At solstice, Sabbat and equinox,
Word of virtue the veil to rend,
From primal dawn to the wide world's end,
Since time began-
The blessing of Pan!

Okay, at this point when I was reading the book online, I'm not sure if this next part is still a continuation from the invocation or if it's something different. But here it is...

Blessed be all in hearth and hold,
Blessed in all worth more than gold,
Blessed be in strength and love,
Blessed be, where'er we rove.
Vision fade not from our eyes
Of the pagan paradise
Past the gates of death and birth,
Our inheritance of earth.
From our soul the song of spring
Fade not in our wandering.
Our life with all life is one,
By blackest night or noonday sun.
Eldest of gods, on thee we call,
Blessing be on thy creatures all.

Corn Doll Tutorial

Hey Everyone! So, I got this tutorial from Moonlight Magic on Facebook. They private messaged me this tutorial. So, hope you guys give this a whorl.

CORN DOLLY

The corn dolly is an ancient harvest custom, still widely practiced throughout Europe. In ancient Europe it was customary at harvest time to leave a small portion of the grain in the field, often twisted or tied into the shape of a man or the symbol of a god or goddess. Sometimes, it was even dressed in men’s or women’s clothes, kept in a cradle, or hung atop a pole.

CORN DOLLY TUTORIAL

You need:
-10 Dried Corn Husks (You can peel from fresh corn & dry them yourself, or buy a pre-packed from the grocery).
-Scissors
-Twine or heavy weight braided string
-Large Bowl of water (able to fit the husks)

Steps:
1.Dampen straw to make pliable.

2.Gather the husks with your string at the smaller end. Tie it as tight as possible in a knot.

3.Divide the husks in half & flip them over around the tied off section. Tie that section off in a knot to make the head.

4.Pull out a section from the side of the doll and divide it into 3 sections
Braid the strips and tie them off at a desired length. Trim the husk near the end to make the hands. Repeat on the other side of doll.

5.Similar to tying off the head, tie off another section below the arms to make a waist and define the body a little more.

6.To cover your string, tear off a long strip of husk and tie it around the exposed parts.

7.Trim off any unevenness on the bottom of the skirt with scissors.
Lastly, “fluff” the skirt by gently separating the folds of husks.

Morning Pages: Passing Memories

Hey Guys!

So, a lot has happened...

My Grandfather passed away in his home on February 3, 2018 at 5:30 pm. I was very close to my Grandfather, just like Avril Lavigne was close to hers.

Avril Lavigne even wrote a song and dedicated it to her Grandfather, "Slipped Away". On her "Try To Shut Me Up" tour, she found out that her Grandfather passed away. She almost cancelled the tour but didn't. She said that the show goes out to her Grandfather who passed away. And she started with the song, "Tomorrow".

*The following what I'm about to share, are my memories that I have of my Grandfather and wanted to share them with you guys.*

My Grandfather meant everything to me. He was always there for me and he even opened up his home to my Mother, my brothers and I when we had nowhere else to go. He had a very kind soul and always had a willing ear to listen to.

I remember over the years of spending time in the kitchen with him cooking, and because of that, I became my family's taste tester in food. When my Grandfather asked me how is it, I respond with, "Its good" and he said, "I'm a good crook huh." I said laughing, "Yes, Grandpa, your a good crook." We just both laughed at that. I would always help him in the kitchen with varies foods that he would always make. From his homemade sausage, wine, apple cider to his German deserts.

By the time I turned 12, he taught me how to drive. Even though I was only 12 at the time, he said that it was for emergencies only. In case if something where to happened, I would know what to do. We would always go off-roading in his dinky little car. One day we actually got stuck, thank God that my Grandfather had a shovel in his trunk to dig us out. I'm not sure why he had a shovel in his trunk but I'm glad that he did or we would have been stuck and nobody would know where we were.

My Mother would discipline my brothers and I and my Grandfather would just spoil us, like all Grandmothers and Grandfathers in the world. My younger brother and I would always fight over the front seat and I remember my Grandfather saying, "The better person sits in the back". I don't know how my Grandfather put up with my younger brother and I when we fought like cats and dogs. There was a couple of occasions that he would yell at us. I guess we just got on his nervous or just got tired of hearing my brother and I fight. My Grandfather, Mother, Uncle, Aunt, older brother and cousin always had to play referee in the great battle of brother vs. sister.

I always thought, that he would live forever because of his strength and health. I would never have thought that his day would actually come to pass. However, it did. All I have are the memories that I shared with my Grandfather over the years. He was an amazing human being and did so much for his family.  And just knowing how brave he was what he did to survive when he was younger is just phenomenal. However, I never knew nothing of his past and what he did. But he did survive from all he went through and because of that, we are all survivors.

I am blessed to have had him in my life and have him as my Grandfather. A sweet, gentle, kind, passionate, generous and protective human being.

And I know that when its my time, he will be there waiting for me.

How many of us knew from a very young age we were Witches? Most Witches know from a young age that they are a Witch, they have a deep sense of Nature, of the Moon, knowing that there is a Goddess. Most think they are the only ones who feel this way until they grow up and realize that it is an actual religion. Then you realize this is how it was in the beginning, the way it used to be in the days of old, before barbaric Monotheistic religions tried to wipe it out.
