What Does FTC Disclaimer Mean on YouTube?

Hi Beauties! A lot of people have been wondering or don't know that on several Guru's, like myself in our video's in the description box below; there is an FTC Disclaimer.

So, what's an FTC Disclaimer you ask, good question...

The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) wants online content creators (e.g. Bloggers and YouTuber's) to include disclaimers stating whether or not products that appear or are featured in the content were paid-for as an advertisement or whether they were bought for personal use.

For example, if a YouTuber drinks Coca-Cola in their video, they should provide a disclaimer that the appearance of Coca-Cola was not a paid advertisement by the Coca-Cola company.

However, if Coca-Cola did actually pay the YouTuber to show the drink in their video, the disclaimer should instead disclose the fact that that the appearance of Coca-Cola was a sponsored advertisement.

The most important thing is to disclose when you are using/reviewing a product that you have been paid to use (or have been given as a gift by the company who makes the product). By not disclosing this information, you are essentially taking a bribe (i.e. we will give you money if you pretend to use our product in your video).

The problem is that when you watch a YouTube video (for example), you don't expect there to be any commercial sponsorship, and you assume that the YouTuber is genuine and has bought the products for their personal use (such as for make-up tutorial videos), but unfortunately some companies are abusing this trust and basically exploiting children on YouTube by paying them to endorse only their product and to make it look good, a product which the YouTuber may not even like or want to use.

The viewers (which are also mostly children) are watching these videos and they believe the YouTuber's are actually buying and using the products for themselves and therefore falsely conclude that the products must be good because the YouTuber's say they are. In turn, those kids go out and buy lots of the advertised product to be like the YouTuber, having no idea that they've fallen victim to a clever corporate marketing trick.

So basically the FTC decision helps introduce disclosure of paid sponsorships so that consumers of the content are aware that they are basically watching a commercial advertisement with paid, not real, endorsement.

FTC Disclaimer: I was not sent any of these products. I am not affiliated with the companies mentioned. All opinions are my own. I am not being sponsored to make this video.

December Birchbox 2012

Hi Beauties! Well, this is my second Birchbox for December and I'm very excited to do this review for you guys. I've been trying out these products that Birchbox have sent me on December 13, 2012 over the past few weeks and here are my thoughts on what I've thought about some of the products that they have sent to me in my box.

Aerie Shimmer Fragrance: $14.95-$39.95
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I love the scent of this perfume.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Olive: $15.00
I get this product 5 out of 5 stars. It glides on very easily, I love how smoothly it went on.

Mox Botanicals Pomegranate & Fig Lip Butter: $16.00
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. Love the scent and its very moisturizing.

Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo: $32.00
I give this product 3.2 out of 5 stars. Upon putting this into my hair it was really hard to lather up because it was like a thick gel consistency. I had to put water onto it in order for me to get my hair lathered up so I can wash my hair.

Lifestyle Extra Chuao Cocolatier -- 7 Pack Assorted ChocoPod: $7.95
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I LOVE this product so much! It tastes so good!

November Birchbox 2012

Hi Beauties! Well, this is my very first Birchbox for November and I'm very excited to do this review for you guys. I've been trying out these products that Birchbox have sent me on November 21, 2012 over the past few weeks and here are my thoughts on what I've thought about some of the products that they have sent to me in my box.

Color Club -- Put A Pin In It: $8.00
I give this product 3.4 out of 5 stars. One could never have too much nail polish lol. I love the color of it; it reminds me of marble. The texture is alright, you can get two coats of it.

Lulu Organics -- Lavender+Clary Sage Hair Powder: $30.00
I give this product 1 out of 5 stars. Mainly because my hair is oily/damaged and needs to be washed everyday or else I will look like a greasy ball.

Model Co. -- Fibre Lashxtend Lengthening Mascara: $24.00
I give this product 1.5 out 5 stars. I wasn't that impressed with the mascara; I've tried better. I had to use like several coats of this to get to what I wanted and by the end of the day, my lashes were board straight. I had to put this mascara on top of another mascara for the look I wanted to achieve.

Stella Cadente -- Miss Me Eau De Parfum: $35.00-$69.00
I give this product 4 out of 5 stars. When I first smelled this perfume, I instantly thought of my Grandmother. This is something that she would wear. However, I wouldn't wear this myself, I enjoy woodsy scents.

Lifestyle Extra -- Soy Joy Cranberry Snack Pack: $6.00 for 5 Bars
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I LOVED this product, it was the BEST thing that I've gotten in my box!

Makeup Brushes for Beginners

Hey Beauties! Today's blog is going to be about what to look for when picking your very first makeup brushes. I know a lot of people suffer from this and I know I did when I was first introduced to makeup. Here are 12 must have brushes for your eyes and face.

Eyes
  1. Flat Stiff Angled Brush- The purpose of this brush is for packing color on the lid. The stiff bristles allow you to push the eyeshadow onto the base easier and allows it to stick. You can also use the tip of the brush to smudge color under the lash line as well or create a defined line in the crease.
  2. Stiff Dome Brush- This is great for feathering out color to create a smokey eye, or for blending out the crease. This brush is meant for blending instead of packing on color.
  3. Pencil Brush- This brush is ideal for smudging color either under or on top of the eye. This can also be used in the crease to give a very defined cut crease appearance to the eye. You can also use this brush in the outer corner of the eye with a dark color to give added depth and drama to the look of your eye as well. The small size of the brush give you a more precise application.
  4. Soft Dome Brush- This brushes soft bristles are ideal for blending out harsh lines below the brow bone of the eye using windshield wiper motions. This is also perfect for blending out concealer under the eye to help hide dark circles and bags.
  5. Bent Liner Brush- This brush is specifically designed for applying gel eyeliner. The bent head makes it ideal for laying on the top of the lashes and dragging the eyeliner out to a winged shape. The pointed tip helps give you a very cat eye, winged out line that makes this brush fool proof when using it.
  6. Dual Ended Lash Brush- This is one of those brushes where you get double the product for your money. One end has the spoolie that allows you to brush through your brows. The other end is an angled brow brush and great for filling in your brows with a powder or even a gel liner if you want a very crisp, defined brow.

Face
  1. Blush/Contour Bush- There are so many of these on the market and in a lot of different shapes from round, fluffy, and even angled ones. With blush you can use many different types of brushes. You can set the angled brush on your cheekbone and sweep it downward and get an easy and flawless application of blush. If the brush is thin enough, you can take the brush and lay it on its “side” to use as a contour brush to enhance the cheekbones.
  2. Cheek Highlighter Brush- This brush is completely optional to have but the feathery, soft bristles of this brush give a very nice finish to any product you use it with. You can also use these with cream blushes to stipple the color onto the cheeks for an airbrushed finish.
  3. Foundation Stippling Brush- This is for those of you who love a full coverage look to your foundation. The flat head is made for the foundation to be stippled onto the face. This assures there are no streaks in the foundation and gives a very airbrushed and flawless look to the skin.
  4. Flat Foundation Bush- This is another optional brush. For those of you who work on clients this can be good as it is not as big. However, this can leave streaks in the foundation so you have to be careful when using this.
  5. Lip Brush- This is mainly for those of you who work on clients. You can’t use lipstick directly from the tube, so a small lip brush is ideal for application. This is a very flat brush that makes it easy to dip into a product and apply smoothly and evenly. This is great to have if you are a makeup artist.
  6. Beauty Blender- So technically this isn’t really a brush but how could I not include it? The egg shaped design makes it ideal for getting under the eye and in small areas. This is what I use everyday to apply my foundation. It’s easy and quick to pat the foundation on and then I roll it toward the hairline to blend it into a smooth, flawless finish. This is a must have for day to day foundation wearing!

Project 10 Pan

Hi Beauties! Okay so today's blog is going to be about Project 10 Pan. I got this idea from YouTube Guru: kissndMAKEUP (Her video will be linked down below at the end of this blog). So, I'm just going to give you guys my thoughts and opinions about the products that I've used up, weather I love them or hate them. So, let's get started.

Okay, starting off in order according to the photo on the left:

Garnier Fuctis Anti-Dandruff Clean & Fresh 2in1
I give 4 out of 5 stars. Okay, first off, I love this product so much. It has Pyrithione Zinc Dandruff Shampoo+Conditioner 48 Hour Control. Green Tea & B-Vitamins to invigorates hair & Scalp. It also helps with: 1. Cleans flakes. Invigorates scalp and 2. Recharger hair with strength. I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser
I give this product 4.3 out of 5 stars. I love this product but it doesn't have any medicine in it to help with acne. It does on the other hand it does help even skin tone and texture; with 5 factors of radiance: tone, texture, dullness, blotchiness and brown spots; with moisture rich soy extract. I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Simply Basic Romantics Plumeria Silky Body Mist
I give this product 1.2 out of 5 stars. Okay, on the bottle is says, "In all of its lush abundance, masses of vibrant plumeria blossoms combine with delicious peach and plum, as sparkling citrus and exotic jasmine complete this soft and sensuous garden of dreams." It also says that its enriched with vitamins: A, C, E and Aloe. At first, I loved this scent but as time went by the scent got less and less visible. I wouldn't recommend this product nor would I buy this again.

Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash
I give this product 4 out of 5 stars. I used this when I had to go to the hospital for a severe allergic reaction to something that I either ate or put on topically. When I was using this, it was so gentle on my skin. According to the bottle it says, "Is specially formulated with Natural Colloidal Oatmeal and rich emollients blends into a creamy wash that gently cleanses to soothe and is clinically proven to help relieve dry skin, even dry skin associated with eczema, when used in a daily routine with AVEENO Baby Soothing Relief Moisture Cream. This tear-free wash leaves skin feeling moisturized for 24 hours, so baby's skin looks and feels healthier. Fragrance-free and hypoallergenic, it's even gentle enough for sensitive baby skin." I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I first heard about this product on TV commercials and then some YouTube Guru's. It had me interested in trying this product, so I went into Wal-Mart and bought the small travel size version to see if I like it or not and surprisingly enough, I enjoyed this product so much that I went and bought the full size one. According to the bottle it says, "Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser is a foaming cleanser uniquely formulated with Bursting Beads that burst with energy and vitamins and an invigorating citrus fragrance to help wake you up. The gentle cleanser, with Vitamin C and Ginseng, helps nourish skin while removing the dirt, oil and impurities that build up overnight. Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser leaves your skin clean and energized!" I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Clean & Clear Advantage 3-in-1 Foaming Acne Wash
I give this product 3 out of 5 stars. At first this product did work but as over time when continuously using a product everyday it stops working. According to the bottle it says, "Salicylic acid acne medication. Oil-free. Cleanses skin+Treats pimples+Helps prevent future breakouts." I'm not sure if I would recommend this product nor buy this product again.

Simple Soothing Facial Toner
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I do have sensitive skin and its not everyday that I can find a great toner that wont irritate my skin. According to the bottle it says, "1 vital vitamin pro-vitamin B5- helps restore, soften and smooth; 3 skin loving nutrients Chamomile- helps tone and soothe, Witch Hazel- helps tone and tighten pores, Allantoin- helps soften; 0 perfume, no dyes, No Harsh Irritants- that can upset your skin." I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Passion Flower Candle by: Slatkin & CO.
I give this product 4 out of 5 stars. I love Bath & Body Works Candles so much! I absolutely love the scent of this candle. I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Mahogany Teakwood Candle by: White Barn
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I love Bath & Body Works Candles so much! I absolutely love the scent of this candle. The bottom of the candle says, "The scents of fine woods - mahogany, cedarwood and oak - highlighted by delicate lavender and geranium notes conjure up an escape to a cozy library on a chilly fall day." I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Pumpkin Caramel Latte Candle by: Slatkin & CO.
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I love Bath & Body Works Candles so much! I absolutely love the scent of this candle. The bottom of the candle says, "Gather with friends and celebrate the season with this warm, rich blend of creamy pumpkin, spiced caramel and sweet cream." I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

CoverGirl Clean Sensitive Skin Pressed Powder in #205 Ivory
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I've tried several different powders and this is the only one that matches my skin perfectly. I love the coverage that it gives. I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I love this product so much! According to the bottle it says, "3 day sleek. The formula with Argan oil from Morocco & Apricot soaks deep into frizzy, dry hair to smooth each strand. Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair. Intense smoothing for long-lasting frizz control & shine. Get 10X smoother, stay sleek for 3 days, even in 97% humidity. For hair that shines with all its strength." I would recommend this product and I would buy this product again.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Naturally Beaming Daily Moisturizer with Soy Based Complex
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. It seems like that I've tried everything when it came to a moisturizer, especially in the winter time when my face was super dry, there was nothing that soothes my face except this product. It was a miracle worker and it soothed my face perfectly; people with dry or oil skin can use this moisturizer. I would definitely recommend this product to EVERYONE and I would buy this product again and again!

E.L.F. Blush vs. Cargo Blush

Hi Beauties! It wasn't that long ago that I was in Sephora buying my very first makeup product by them and when I saw this blush; I absolutely fell in love with the color. I'm here to give you a great blush dupe and the pros and cons about both of these products; so let’s get started!

E.L.F. Blush in Pink Passion
Pros- Affordable, great color quality, easy to travel with
Cons- The clear rectangle window on the packaging comes off really easy
Cost- $3.00
Grams- 4.75g / .168 oz.

Cargo Blush in Amalfi
Pros- Great color quality
Cons- Costs to much, packaging is to bulky
Cost- $29.00
Grams- 8.9g / 0.314 oz.

So, in my opinion both blushes are exactly the same color pay off but the Cargo Blush is more sparkly/glittery and the E.L.F. Blush is more matte. If you want a great bright pink blush but don’t have the money to go out and get the Cargo Blush in Amalfi, then run over to Target and get the E.L.F. Blush in Pink Passion. Look to the photograph on the right for comparison. (E.L.F. Blush on the left and Cargo Blush on the right).

Influencer Beauty Bloggers VoxBox 2012

Well, this is my very first Influencer VoxBox and I'm very excited to do this review for you guys.

Okay Beauties, I've been trying out these products that Influencer have sent me on October 18, 2012 over the past few weeks and here are my thoughts on what I've thought about some of the products that they have sent to me in my box.

NYC Individual Eyes Custom Compact: $4.99
I give this product 3.4 out of 5 stars, because I love the eyeshadows but what I didn't love was the primer and the illuminator. My eyes creased my the end of the night and it was just melting right off of my eyes. I will stick with my Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion for now on.

Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit: $5.99
I haven't used these lashes mainly because I don't know how to put them on and the last set I've tried, I really didn't like and they were from Forever 21. I haven't had the need to wear these, the only time I will wear something like this is on a special event or occasion.

Bath & Body Works Mini Candle: $3.50
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars! I love Bath & Body Works Candles so much and I thank Influencer for giving me the candle that I love which is: Mahogany Teakwood and the $10 off coupon. I was able to buy another Mahogany Teakwood 3-wick candle with the $10 off coupon.

EBOOST: $28 for a box of 20 Effervescent Powders, $39 for a box of 30 Effervescent Powders, $39 for a box of 12 Shots
I give this product 1 out of 5 stars, mainly because the one that they sent to me was the Orange flavored one and I really didn't care for it and neither did my Mom. I wished that Influencer would have giving me a different flavor.

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin: $7.29
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I love this better than the Conair Bun Maker because my hair is so long and very thick plus its in layers and I had a problem getting it up in the bun maker donut but with the spin pin, I found it very easy to put in and I've been wearing it in my hair ever since I got the product so thank you for giving me this.

Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl-Defining Hair Cream: $6.00
I give this product 3.4 out of 5 stars because my hair is very long and thick, any product that I put in my hair will weight it down and its a HUGE problem for me because I want to curl my hair. With this product, I found that it gave me some what of a curl but nothing that exciting.

Bonus Product: Vitabath Fragrance Mist
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. The scent that they gave was in: Vanilla and I just adore this scent. I've loved the scent of Vanilla since high school and it brought back some great memories when I sprayed this product onto myself. So thank you for sending me this wonderful product.

Vampire

Vampires are mythological or folkloric beings who subsist by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of living creatures, regardless of whether they are undead or a living person/being.

Although vampiric entities have been recorded in many cultures, and may go back to "prehistoric times", the term vampire was not popularized until the early 18th century, after an influx of vampire superstition into Western Europe from areas where vampire legends were frequent, such as the Balkans and Eastern Europe, although local variants were also known by different names, such as vrykolakas in Greece and strigoi in Romania.

This increased level of vampire superstition in Europe led to mass hysteria and in some cases resulted in corpses actually being staked and people being accused of vampirism.

While even folkloric vampires of the Balkans and Eastern Europe had a wide range of appearance ranging from nearly human to bloated rotting corpses, it was interpretation of the vampire by the Christian Church and the success of vampire literature, namely John Polidori's 1819 novella The Vampyre that established the archetype of charismatic and sophisticated vampire; it is arguably the most influential vampire work of the early 19th century, inspiring such works as Varney the Vampire and eventually Dracula.

The Vampyre was itself based on Lord Byron's unfinished story "Fragment of a Novel", also known as "The Burial: A Fragment", published in 1819.

However, it is Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula that is remembered as the quintessential vampire novel and which provided the basis of modern vampire fiction.

Dracula drew on earlier mythologies of werewolves and similar legendary demons and "was to voice the anxieties of an age", and the "fears of late Victorian patriarchy".

The success of this book spawned a distinctive vampire genre, still popular in the 21st century, with books, films, video games, and television shows.

The vampire is such a dominant figure in the horror genre that literary historian Susan Sellers places the current vampire myth in the "comparative safety of nightmare fantasy".

The Pagan Calendar

The Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of seasonal festivals in contemporary Paganism.

It consists primarily of eight festivals based around the solstices and equinoxes, known as the quarter days, and the midpoints between, known as the cross quarter days.

Within Paganism, many festivals are celebrated. They can vary considerably in name and date amongst specific Pagan traditions, however the eight festivals of the Wheel comprise the most adhered and important annual celebrations.

The Wheel of the Year has been important to many people both ancient and modern, from various religious as well as cultural and secular viewpoints.

In the context of Witchcraft, the festivals have also commonly been referred to as Sabbats since the Middle Ages, when the terminology for Jewish Sabbats was commingled with that of other "heretical" celebrations.

Reuse Your Candle Jars!

I love reusing candle jars, they are the perfect size to do just about anything with.

In this blog, will show you how to clean out your candle jars so you can use them for whatever your heart desires.

Step 1.
Start with a candle that you have burned down completely. You will probably have about half an inch of wax left in the bottom, which is normal because wicks don't usually burn down all the way before they stop lighting. Put your candle in the freezer for about an hour.

Step 2.
Remove your candle from the freezer, and stab the wax carefully with a sharp kitchen knife. This will loosen up the wax and enable you to pour the wax bits into the trash. The reason this works is because wax, unlike water, shrinks when frozen, and therefore will loosen up and pull away from the sides during it's vacation in the freezer. Chop up the wax until it falls out of the glass and into the trash. The only thing left in your candle jar will be the wicks which will probably be glued to the bottom of your jar. You can leave these for now.

Step 3.
Give your jar a hot, soapy bubble bath. I did this in my kitchen sink. Hand wash your jar to get rid of all of the remaining soot, wax, and glue. I filled my glass up with super hot water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to loosen up the glue holding the wicks. Then, after pouring out the scalding water I used my nails to peel off the wick holders. They came off really easily! Remove the labels as well; this was the easiest part because they just peeled right off.

Step 4.
Give your glass a final, squeaky clean wash. Just hand wash this one again to remove every last trace of residue.

Voila! You are done! Now you can reuse your candle jar! I used mine to store my favorite nail polishes of the moment according to the season. This works as both polish storage and colorful decor! I also use it for my makeup brushes and herbs. In addition, you could use your jar to hold cotton balls, loose change, a potted plant... possibilities are endless! So, happy crafting!

Reusing Left Over Wax

This is something that I just discovered.

When the wick of your candle is no more...

What on earth do you do with the rest of the wax?

Well, look no further because I've got a solution for you.

First, you wanna cut the wax into cubes or how ever small you want them.

Second, If you have an oil burner or a scentsy warmer, use the left over wax that you cut and put them into your burner or warmer.

The heat will melt down the wax. (See Photo On Left). So, enjoy the rest of your candle.

Native American Corn Fritters Recipe

This was adapted to the times from a traditional Native American recipe. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
2 large ears fresh sweet corn (or 1 packed cup of thawed, drained, frozen corn)
2 large eggs
1/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons yellow cornmeal
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
Peanut oil for frying (may substitute canola)

Directions:
Over a large bowl, using a sharp knife, carefully shave the corn kernels off the cob. With the back of the knife, scrap the milky juice from the cob into the bowl. Whisk the eggs and milk into the corn until thoroughly combined. In another bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Pour into the bowl of the corn mixture, and stir with a spatula to form a thick batter.

Pour oil about 3/4-inch deep into a heavy-duty skillet. Over med-high heat, bring oil to 375°F. When oil is hot, drop rounded tablespoons of batter carefully into the oil. Don’t crowd, the fritters should not touch each other. Best done in two batches. Cook about 3 minutes on each side, until the corn fritters are golden brown. Drain on paper towels or wire rack. Salt if desired, and serve corn fritters immediately.
